Summer is Busy!
Wow.
I am not even starting off with a “Dear Diary…” I haven’t been on for… how many months? I am not going to even bother counting. If anyone IS reading this, if anyone takes time out of their probably hot, sweat-drenching summer to read this, then I am sorry. Summer has been surprisingly busy. For the past two weeks, I have been in Martha’s Vineyard. In that relaxing, laid-back climate, I was STILL busy! It’s probably because my friend Charlotte invited me, and we were hanging out a ton. She is just packed with energy! She is also packed with multiple interests. We would originally be shopping for a bathing suit, and then she would squeal, “Oh my god, Rio Janeiro! I just spotted the cutest socks ever!” Then she would see key chains, and she would drag me to them after I had the smallest moment to look at the socks. Yes, she has many interests. She also has many nicknames for people, hence the “Rio Janeiro!” Charlotte just happened to have gone there, so she named me that. She also has been to some of the rarest parts of the world, and some of the most exquisite hotels in the world. You might say she is rich. It’s no wonder her parents took me to their quaint cottage in Martha’s Vineyard, let me shop with their money, (I actually used my money), and took me and Charlotte to a formal restaurant almost every other night with no hesitation. I was overwhelmed. It was like I was in a separate world, where saving money for more important things didn’t matter. I admit, it was fun, but I am fine back in reality. Reality means actually being able to get some sleep, not having energy loaded girl whisper in your ear all night long. Charlotte’s nice though, don’t get me wrong. I came back from Martha’s Vineyard tired, rumpled, and cranky. Once I saw Alex, I was afraid he would ask if I wanted to swim, or skateboard, and I was way too exhausted for any of that. Thankfully, he simply smiled, hugged me, and asked if I wanted to get an ice cold smoothie at Beth’s bakery. I wearily smiled back, and just nodded. Then, after exactly five sips of smoothie, I promptly fell asleep. I am a pretty deep sleeper, so when Beth tried to gently prod me awake, I just moved my arm. Alex tried to carry me, but that didn’t work so well, so he called Dad, but his back was acting up, or so he said. Zach got to the scene and helped Alex carry me to the car, and out of the car. I know, you’re thinking, “Well how else could your summer be busy?” Well, it is hot and mucky, so I don’t feel good enough to write sometimes. Also, I am working on articles for our school newspaper. I have Leah, who I sometimes have to kid-sit, and I have to enjoy summer, right?
